Teachers to attend test of their learning on oct 14

After training, government school teachers will again sit for attempting the test papers on October 14.
Teachers of five schools from Indore district had failed to deliver 30 percent passing result in class 10 and class 12 Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) examination. The teachers including all such teachers from the state had to attempt the examination testing their knowledge in June.
The examination had tested skills of school teachers in about 700 schools by making them appear for an examination similar to class 10 and class 12 board exams.
Overall, about 3500 teachers in the state from these ‘underperforming schools’ were tested. From Indore, about 15 teachers will be tested as five schools have failed to deliver minimum 30 percent results in board examination.
The district committee of the department had set the question paper similar to the question papers prepared for the board examination in the past five years. This checked the level of knowledge of teachers.
Though there was no result based system, most teachers were unable to score even 50 percent and hence, were sent for training.
Hence, the teachers were trained for the subject by CTE (College of Teacher Education), Bhopal and IASE (Institute of Advanced Study in Education), Bhopal. After training, as per orders, another examination was scheduled in the last week of September.
However, quarterly examinations of board students are scheduled at the same time. Hence, the date for teachers’ examination has been revised to Oct 14, as per orders from state education department.
The notice was floated to various district education officers, who have to ensure that the notice reaches teachers latest by Sept 30.
Teachers from the following schools district had failed to deliver 30 percent passing result in class 10 and class 12: Urdu High School, Juna Risala, High School Sagdod, High School Girota, Depalpur, High School Shivani and High School Dudhiya.
In this, there were five teachers in mathematics with one teacher each in English and science, whose results are less than 30 percent. Further, maximum 15 teachers were assessed from the city in the final list.
