51st Round Square International Conference (RSIC) 2019


The 51st Round Square International Conference (RSIC) 2019 will be hosted by The Emerald Heights International School from October 2 to 8 in the school campus. The week has been chosen in association with Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th anniversary to be celebrated all across the country on Oct 2.
The conference is among the most populous conferences of the world with the idea of multicultural country and global village. “In keeping with our association's of the conference with birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the theme of the conference is 'Sarvodaya: the world we wish to see' signifying Progress for all,” president of the host school Muktesh Singh said.
The week, dedicated to non-violence and peace, will be celebrated at the school on a similar theme.
“Over a 1,000 delegates from 55 countries including  Bangladesh, Jordan, Dubai, Europe, United Kingdom (UK), Germany, France, United States of America (USA), Canada, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand and others will be participating in the conference,” school principal Siddharth Singh said. Students from Pakistan schools will not be joining the conference due to rejection of visa.
The delegates in the age group of 14 to 17 years are coming from 156 top schools of the world to attend the conference. Renowned keynote speakers from all over world would also be addressing the delegates. There will be 315 adults from 55 nationalities attending the conference.
About the theme
Sarvodaya is a Sanskrit term meaning universal word meaning progress for all. The word is a combination of ‘sarva’ means one and all; and 'uday' meaning welfare or uplift. The idea of the confere is ‘we should mould the world and ourselves into what we wish to see’.
Activities during the conference
The conference will be arranged in four discreet units to ensure a 'family feel' with the all the benefits of a large conference. The idea is to have four mini conferences within one large conference.
During the course of the conference delegates will have a platform, where problems faced globally can be discussed and solutions achieved.
The conference will feature sessions to understand and implement the Round Square Discovery Frame work which is in line with RS ideals. The conference will include an adventure camp experience for delegates to ignite their spirit of adventure.
The program will also create a community service experience for all delegates’ visits to cities like Mandu and Maheshwar, located on the banks of river Narmada with great historical significance in India.
Every evening, there will be gala theme dinner depicting the different states of India with a local market set up and cuisine specific to that will be served with the local cultural performances.

Before Pentecost, Christian community helps underprivileged families with ration

Prior to Pentecost, Christian community is following the lessons taught by Jesus Christ and helping those in need. In their drive to help underprivileged families, Christian volunteers forming a group are providing ration packets to them. Christian holiday of Pentecost, which is celebrated the 49th day (the seventh Sunday) after Easter Sunday, will be celebrated on May 31 this year. School Education Department issued an advisory to all the school heads and officers regarding precautions to be taken against the deadly novel coronavirus to prevent the spread of infection among school children. The advisory was sent out at the direction of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India with a photocopy of the letter attached. The department in its advisory stated that the world is fighting against the rapid spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). In India, too, the number of cases identified has increased in the last few days.
