Minister of higher education Jitu Patwari, on Saturday, announced providing relief to all those candidates who have been waiting to join as assistant professors since last year. He was conversing with students at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) at auditorium, after inaugurating the DAVV energy department Anusudhan Kendra.
“Candidates selection is complete for the examination conducted for the post of assistant professor last year and appointments would be completed soon,” Patwari said. Further, he announced that the examination for the post would be conducted every year.
“Every year, 100 vacancies for the post would be taken out and these posts would be filled through Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC),” Patwari said.
Further, he announced that officer for sports officer in every college would be filled. “We have taken out a budget of Rs 70 crore for the entire state, so every government college will have a designated sports officer from this year onwards,” Patwari said.
Talking about possible solutions to student issues, Patwari announced ‘Knowledge Corporation’, which will be made in the city. “We intend to make the corporation that will provide skill related solutions to student problems,” he said.
Discussing the topic of Skill University, Patwari noted that the university has cleared most approvals and is in last phase of approvals. “The university building students for skill-based jobs will be made near Indore,” Patwari said. He added that the university will tie up with companies based in Pithampur.
“The skills will be determined based on requirements of the companies and would be developed in association with them,” Patwari said.
Further, he met students of veterinary college, who have been protesting against the government for allowing private colleges to run the course and not providing jobs despite vacancies to eligible students. Patwari ensured the students of taking out a notice for vacancies but did not consider limiting the course to government colleges.
Projects displayed at inauguration
In the opening ceremony of DAVV energy department Anusudhan Kendra, students presented various projects to conserve energy. A project that caught attention of visitors was electric cycle project. Further, there were many other projects on solar-powered instruments and vehicles.
