International day of Yoga: from Maharaja to British, it has touched every life

From losing excessive weight to treating pain issues in the body, Yoga is popularly known for its benefits for the body. However, that is still considered just the surface of benefits of Yoga.
Yoga is known to cure a person, revive them physically, emotionally, and mentally and gives a boost to the spiritual process. Due to its various benefits, Yoga is not just limited to yogis or seniors; it is the way of life for many youngsters as well.
International Day of Yoga, or commonly and unofficially referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. An international day for yoga was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The theme of the 2019 Yoga day is ‘Yoga for Heart’ and it is going to be a great day of harmonizing development to our body.
Following are some Yogis of Indore, who decoded their experience with me.
Yoga heals, empowers and eradicates diseases
Yoga is a way of life that has its roots in Indian culture. At DAVV, we are currently running several bachelor, diploma, certificate, master and doctoral programs for Yoga.
Our batches are always full, but yoga works wonders where modern medicine fails. We are teaching Yoga therapy in the institute.
The therapy empowers students to heal many diseases. It is not limited to mental and emotional issues of insomnia. It has proven and worked wonders in other areas like thyroid issues, slip disc, arthritis, polycystic ovarian syndrome disease, diabetes, hypertension, migraine, stomach ulcers, etc.
Yoga can heal all these problems that generally require operations or continual medicines within 15 minutes of yoga therapy. Our students are doing extremely well after graduating and even earning their livelihood comfortably with earnings up to Rs 1 lakh per month.

Yoga is not a religion, it is human

I started practicing yoga from the age of 10. My yogic journey started as sports and won gold medals in national and international yoga championships. I won Himalaya Yoga Olympiad 2008.
It took years for me to understand the various effects of Yoga for life. Coming from a small town to Indore, I would have never imagined finding my better half in Kathrine.
Kathrine is British and we found a much higher way to connect because of Yoga.
During international teacher training courses, we find that people think yoga is Hindu religion. Many of my students ask “Is it ok if don't chant Om or other mantra because they follow different religion and don't want to get in Hindu religion by chanting mantras.”
It took time for me to explain them mantras are not about religion, they are powerful words that empower us.
Yoga is ‘Manubhav’ as cited in vedas meaning it is human.

Yoga is must for everyone
Yoga is for all, it is not limited to anyone by the matter of caste, age, class or gender. Yoga has helped me become a better person and gaining control of myself.
Yoga is a mind and body practice with a 5,000-year history in ancient Indian philosophy. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation.

Prior to Pentecost, Christian community is following the lessons taught by Jesus Christ and helping those in need. In their drive to help underprivileged families, Christian volunteers forming a group are providing ration packets to them. Christian holiday of Pentecost, which is celebrated the 49th day (the seventh Sunday) after Easter Sunday, will be celebrated on May 31 this year. The holiday commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ. Under the drive, ration packets are given to 200 to 250 people on a regular basis. “Christ was the ultimate social worker. Not only could he find housing for people, or give them free food,” Ashutosh Joseph, a volunteer said. He cited that in the Bible, God's call to His followers to care for other human beings is clear (Philippians 2:4; 1 John 3:17-18; Proverbs 19:17 New International Version). “In fact, Jesus states that one of the most important commandments is ‘love your neighbour...
